We Bless God in Good Times and Bad – (1st Chronicles 29:12-13, 15)

Daily Verse(s)
Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. For we are aliens and pilgrims before You, as were all our fathers; our days on earth are as a shadow, and without hope.

Reading Notes
God is Lord over all and Jesus is our King. Moreover, we are God’s creation through Christ Jesus our Lord. It was Jesus who created all things that were created and by Him all things are held together. Therefore, all riches, all honor, all strength and all glory belong to God. And we glorify God through our faith in Christ and following Him. Moreover, this means that all the blessings we have come from God. In addition, as Jesus promised us, He is there to see us through our trials as well. As followers of Jesus we are never alone, we have the Holy Spirit who is with us always, guiding and strengthening us in our walk with Christ. It is a true thing to say, “to God be all honor, glory, praises and blessings!” And it is our privilege to honor and praise Him through praising Jesus our Lord and King! Dear believer, it’s important for us to remember because of the great salvation which God has given us, because of the riches we have awaiting us in His kingdom, we have to praise God in both the good times and the bad.

We are not to fall into the habit of the world. The world loves to blame God in bad times brought on by their own sin and the sin of others. And yet praise themselves instead of God for the good times, which God has blessed them with. The Bible tells us in the end times, people will be lovers of evil, lovers of self, proud and boastful haters of God. That people will call good evil and evil good, and we see this happening all around us today. However, as followers of Christ, we are to remember that we live in a fallen world, a world at enmity with God and under the influence of the one the Apostle Paul calls the, “prince of the power of the air,” who is Satan. But, we as children of God and joint-heirs with Christ in the kingdom of God, we are to praise our Lord continually, for He is our strength and our hope and our guarantee of the eternal life we have to come. Because of what Jesus did for us, and our faith in Him, we have become children of God with the guarantee of an eternity to be spent in His presence. And it’s through God all blessings come to us, both spiritual and physical. And it’s God alone who keeps us through the trials we face, while living in this fallen world, a world at enmity with God.
