Jesus Will Return with Power and Great Glory – (Matthew 24:30-33)

Daily Verse(s)
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye when ye shall  see all these things know that it is near even at the doors.

Reading Notes
Do you know Jesus is coming back? Did you know His return is soon even at the door? When we place our faith in Jesus we become children of God and have eternal life through Him. And dear believer, it doesn’t end there! Jesus is returning and we are not only called children of God by His word, but God also tells us we are joint-heirs with Christ in the kingdom of God. Because of our faith in Jesus alone for salvation, we not only inherit life in God’s kingdom, but we will rule and reign with Jesus. We will be forever in his service, with complete joy and happiness. Therefore, our hearts, our eyes and our focus should not be on ourselves, but on the future, which awaits us, and for those who are lost, those spoken about in these passages. Those spoken of as mourning here in these passages are not mourning because of sorrow or repentance.

They are mourning because of fear and dread, they know it is now too late, the prospects for salvation are forever gone. Jesus has returned, and now all rebellion will end and eternal punishment is certain. The calling of every Christian is to use our time, talents and resources to help make this group of people as small as possible by following God’s will and direction in our lives. Dear child of God, we must understand once Jesus returns it is too late. People will not be able to look at Jesus and say, “Ok, now I believe.” The moment He returns it’s over and those who have not placed their faith in Him will spend eternity in Hell. In addition, those who die before they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will also spend eternity separated from God in Hell. Moreover, we should understand this, those who are separated from God, do so by their own free will. God does not send people to Hell, they themselves freely choose Hell and separation from God because they rejected God’s free gift of grace through faith in Christ Jesus our Lord.
