Bible Verse
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Reading Notes
Jesus redefined our relationship with God, through His death and resurrection. Rarely during Old Testament times did people refer to God as Father; however, Jesus during His ministry called God Father. As a matter of fact, Jesus not only called God, his Father; but He used a term indicating that He and God were the same essence, in other words one and the same. We refer to this as the Trinity. The Trinity means that Jesus is fully God and fully human, He is the Second Person of the Trinity. The Trinity means there is only one God, but He exists in three distinct persons. God the Father, God the Son, who is Jesus and God the Spirit, whom we call the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, Jesus with His death and resurrection for all those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior have eternal life. We have a new relationship with God the Father. A relationship restored with God and by God Himself. We are transformed from being enemies of God to the children of God and therefore we too can call God Father. And because of what Jesus has done for us, we can come before our Heavenly Father and have a relationship with Him. Moreover, God because of His mercy has given us the hope and security of eternal life. This gift was given to us when we placed our faith in Jesus as our Lord. And the resurrection of Jesus is our proof, our guarantee He was who He claimed to be, that is God come to save mankind, He is the God-man Christ Jesus our Lord.
