Daily Verse(s)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Reading Notes
Jesus redefined our relationship with God, through His ministry, His life, death and resurrection. Rarely during Old Testament times did people refer to God as Father. Within the Old Testament there was the unveiling of the guilt all people bore because of sin and the separation between a fallen humanity and a holy God. However, Jesus during His ministry called God Father. As a matter of fact, Jesus not only called God his Father, but He used a term indicating that He and God were the same essence. In other words, Jesus said that He and God were one and the same and this was one of the primary reasons the religious leaders wanted to kill Him. We refer to this as the Trinity. The Trinity means that Jesus is fully God and fully human, He is the Second Person of the Trinity. The Trinity means there is only one God, but He exists in three distinct persons. God the Father, God the Son, who is Jesus and God the Spirit, whom we call the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, Jesus with His death and resurrection reconciled a fallen humanity back to God. For all of us who accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we receive the free gift of salvation and eternal life through faith alone, in Jesus alone. We have a new relationship with God the Father. A relationship restored with God and restored by God Himself. We are transformed from being enemies of God, to the children of God, because of Jesus we too can call God Father. And because of what Jesus has done for us, we can come before our heavenly Father and have a relationship with Him. Moreover, God because of His mercy has given us the hope and security of eternal life. This gift was given to us when we placed our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. And the resurrection of Jesus is our proof, it is our guarantee, that He was who He claimed to be, that is, God dwelling with man, God in the flesh, come to save humanity. Jesus will forevermore be the God-man, Christ Jesus our Lord. Dear child of God, this simple fact is so amazing and yet was so needed, in order that we, a fallen humanity, could be reconciled back to a holy God.
