Daily Bible Verses for 5/14/2016
Bible Verse
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, “Fear not, I will help you.”
Reading Notes
God is with those who love Him, and follow His commandments. We have to remember God never leaves us, instead we because of our sin can stray from God and go our own way. However, God never leaves us, He will never forsake those who belong to Him. And as followers of Jesus this promise is just as applicable to us today as it was to the nation of Israel more than two-thousand years ago. Because of our faith in Christ, we need not fear the judgments of the Lord. Because we are His children adopted into the family of God through our faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. As children of God and joint heirs with Christ, our relationship with God has been restored, because of our faith in Jesus. Through the blood of Jesus, shed for us on the cross, and our faith in Him, our sins can be forgiven us. We can now approach God as our perfect Father in heaven.
Dear child of God, do you really understand how profound a gift this truly is? Because of the fallen world we live in, which entices us into sin. Because of the desires of our flesh which can grow into sinful acts, we stray from God. If left on our own we would be hopelessly lost, however, while we were still separated from God by our sin, Jesus died for us! And through faith in Him, we can be reconciled to God. Therefore, God’s promises are ours through faith. Moreover, His thoughts toward us, are thoughts of peace, joy and kindness, in order to give us hope because we know He is faithful and able to restore us. Though we may have trials and go through tribulations that seem ready to destroy us, the Lord is faithful to carry us through those trials we face. The Lord is faithful to restore our lives. And in the end when our time here on earth is through He will take us home to dwell forever in the presence of His glory. There we will know more, understand more and feel greater peace and joy than we can ever experience here in this world.
