God Will Ask, What Did You Do With Your Knowledge and Love of Jesus – (1st Peter 4:17)

Daily Verse(s)
For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Reading Notes
All people will face judgment based on what we did with the Good News of the Gospel of Christ. Judgment for what we did with the knowledge of Jesus that was given to all of us. All people great and small will face judgment for who we claim Jesus to be in our lives. For those who rejected Jesus, they will face the Great White Throne of Judgment. This is where God will take those who rebelled against Him, and rejected Jesus and give them what they so desperately craved for in life. Which is eternal separation from God, and the punishment that goes with that decision made in rebellion. However, for Christians, we will face the Bema Seat of Christ. This will not be a throne of judgment, but a place of reward.

There at the Bema Seat, Jesus Himself will evaluate our lives in order to determine His reward for our service to Him, and our service to others out of the love we have for Him and those around us. Jesus will evaluate what we did for Him and for others with the resources, time and talents He gave us. What we did out of our love for Him! The Bible tells us that everything we have will be burned away and only those works accomplished in Jesus, out of our love for Him will remain. Then and only then will we be rewarded. And only what remains after Jesus burns away everything done for selfish gain, recognition, pride or pleasure will be rewarded. Therefore, knowing this we should all the more strive to deepen our relationship with Christ through prayer and the study of His word. So we can be better prepared to follow His will for our lives.
