Reading Notes
Jesus is the divine power behind every believer! He is the source from which we draw our strength. Moreover, we have our sufficiency in Him and our perseverance comes through Him as we are led by the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. Perseverance is the result of remaining steadfast in our faith through trials by trusting in the Lord. Perseverance is needed in order to build up endurance. And endurance is needed to run well, the race which the Lord has set before us. Endurance is what makes us effective for the kingdom work God has called us to do. As followers of Christ, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who brings about a change in our lives as He builds in us a new heart committed to God. The Holy Spirit in turn is directed by Christ Jesus our Lord who calls us into His service in the areas He has prepared us for. And because of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence, God is with us always.

The Holy Spirit guides us and He illuminates God’s word for us as we study scripture, thereby giving us a better understanding in the things which pertain to life. By having a relationship with Jesus, we can better understand God’s word the Bible. Because it’s God’s word which testify’s of Him. The process of spiritual growth carried out in us by God, through the work of the Holy Spirit is called sanctification. Sanctification is a process that starts with our salvation and continues till the day we go home to be with the Lord. Therefore, we are lacking in nothing we need to live an abundant life in Christ. In addition, our spiritual resources are replenished through our ongoing relationship with God. A relationship broken by sin, but restored through confession and repentance, because of our faith in Jesus and our acceptance of Him as our Lord and Savior. It is Jesus who has brought us back into the family of God. A relationship that is constantly strengthened by our knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. A knowledge which we gain through the study of His word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
