Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. For we are aliens and pilgrims before You, as were all our fathers; our days on earth are as a shadow, and without hope.
God is Lord over all, Jesus is our King and we are God’s creation through Christ Jesus our Lord. It was Jesus who created all things that were created. And by Jesus all things are held together. Therefore, all riches, honor, strength and glory belong to God. Therefore, all blessings we have come from God. In addition, He is there to see us through our trials as well. It is a true thing to say, “to God be all honor, glory, praises and blessings!” And it is our privilege to honor and praise Jesus our Lord and King!
Dear believer, it’s important for us to remember to praise God in both the good times and the bad and to not fall into the habit of the world. The world loves to blame God in bad times brought on by their own sin and yet praise themselves instead of God for the good times which God blessed them with. However, we as children of God and joint-heirs with Christ are to praise our Lord continually for He is our strength and our hope. Because of what Jesus did for us and our faith in Him, we have become children of God with the guarantee of an eternity spent in His presence. And it’s through God all blessings come to us. And it’s God alone who keeps us through the trials we face while living in this fallen world, a world at enmity with God.
