Saving Grace, Jesus Our Gift – (Titus 2:11-14)

Bible Verse
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Reading Notes
The love of God is displayed through Jesus who appeared to all humanity, teaching us the true way to God through faith in Him. Jesus is the grace of God! He is the divine attribute of grace which has been displayed to all men. Jesus alone gives us the free gift of grace that breaks the bonds of sin and produces a transformation in our lives because God changes our hearts. Through faith God brings about a real change in our hearts and minds, changing us into a child of God’s kingdom. As our love for the Lord grows the changes in our hearts in turn produce behavior pleasing to God, which is a result of our love for Christ. A work only possible because of the changes and growth carried out in us by the Holy Spirit as a result of our faith in Christ. As a result of our redemption, we become a new creation in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Through faith in His sacrifice for us, salvation is given freely by Jesus, which brings us back into fellowship with God. In addition, the salvation given freely to us by faith secures for us an eternity spent in the presence of God. As we know our salvation brings with it the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who changes our hearts and minds through His process of sanctification, which is God’s process of spiritual growth carried out in our lives. The Holy Spirit renews us and makes us into a new creation in Christ Jesus. Thus, throughout our lives, we are then prepared not only to do God’s will here in this fallen world. But we’re also prepared for the “blessed hope” as Paul calls it. Which is the glorious appearing and return of Jesus Christ at the second coming. This is the time when He will physically return with us His saints as He ushers in His Millennial Kingdom.
