Daily Bible Verses for 5/28/2016
Bible Verse
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Reading Notes
Paul is reminding us when all is said and done. When we come to the end of our time here on earth. We are conquerors, and not only conquerors; but so much more to a God who loves us so. In his closing admonition, Paul is covering all possible sources of trials in the life of a Christian, above the normal ups and downs of life. Even through loss of family, friends, loved ones, illness and spiritual warfare by demonic (principalities) activity meant to hinder our walk with Christ. When Paul speaks of “nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, ” he is speaking about varying ranks of fallen angels who cause chaos in the lives of believers. We know that bad things are not caused by God. Rather, they happen for many reasons. Including the fallen world we live in, which brings disease, accidents and chaos.
In addition, bad things happen because of our sin, which is enticed by our desires as well as the sin of others and by the spiritual warfare, which is waged all around us. However, despite the cause of the hardship God is there with us, providing us the strength that we need to make it through the trial at hand. This also includes mistreatment by those who have authority over us and abuse their positions of responsibility. Despite all these things, we are still conquerors, through Christ Jesus our Lord. As difficult as it is to see ahead when we go through trials and suffering. We must strive to keep the end in mind. Strive to keep our eyes focused on the goal ahead and run the race well for Jesus’ sake! For we know the end is already determined and unchanging, and in the end, we are victorious because of what Jesus did for us. Stated in the simplest terms Jesus wins! And we have security in Christ our Lord, the creator and Sustainer of all things and in Him we place our trust.
