Daily Bible Verses for 12/30/2016
Daily Verse(s)
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Reading Notes
There is no greater love than God’s love for us! There are no works which we can perform, that can compare to God’s love for us! Nor are there any works we can complete to earn our way into Heaven. Moreover, there is no better demonstration of God’s love for us, in that while we were dead in our trespasses and sins and without strength to save ourselves. And while we were still sinners at enmity with God, the Lord made a way for us to receive salvation and spend eternity in His presence. God provided a way of salvation for us, a way which cost God everything and us nothing. A way that was given freely to us as a gift because of God’s immense love and grace toward us. God in His perfect chosen timing sent His only begotten Son, Jesus. Who, while being fully God stepped out of eternity and took on humanity.
Jesus added humanity to His divinity, without loss of either, and He did so for no other reason, than to die for us and take upon Himself the punishment we deserved. Jesus loved us so much that while we were still enemies of God, He died for us! And God gave us free will in order that we can freely choose to love Him and accept Jesus. And by His death Jesus reconciled us to a Holy God. God did what man could not do, that is, He made salvation possible for sinful humanity. Jesus did this to save us from the wrath to come, that by our free will and by faith alone, we could choose to accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Dear child of God, we are living in what the Bible calls the end times. This means the return of Jesus is close at hand, as God prepares to pour out His wrath on an unrepentant world. God will do so in one last attempt to get mankind’s attention, in order that people would turn back toward Him. Jesus has saved us from the judgment to come, therefore we should spread the Good News of salvation through faith alone in Christ alone, to others who are lost as we once were.
