And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Reading Notes
All nations and all people, no matter how different we may seem, are now one in Christ Jesus our Lord. Because of His love for us, and by His blood shed for us, He has brought peace to our warring flesh as well as brought peace between all tribes, tongues and nations. By our faith in Jesus, people of all languages and nations are reconciled back to God and to one another. Through Jesus, those who were near and those who were far off, become one family, united by our faith and by the Holy Spirit who indwells every follower of Christ. Therefore, because of our faith in Jesus, we are now one body, called the church. Collectively, we have become the bride of Christ, given to Jesus as a gift from God the Father. And given to us, is the gift of eternity to come, spent in the presence of God, where we will see Jesus face to face. We are governed by one spirit the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers, and His presence is one of the many gifts of our salvation as a result of our faith in Jesus. And what the Apostle Paul is explaining to the Ephesian church in these passages, is the reconciliation we have through Jesus.
Reconciliation given freely to us, because of God’s mercy and grace. And because of our new relationship with God, it’s the Holy Spirit who brings our prayers before the throne of God. We have this privilege because we have been adopted into the family of God, by our faith in Jesus. Who because of His immense love for us, shed His blood for us on the Cross of Calvary, through which we become children of God. This is a miracle of God, by which we can now come boldly before the throne of God with our prayers and supplications. Dear child of God, can we truly understand how amazing this is? Never before in human history, as any group of people gained access into the presence of God. Yet despite our fallen nature, because of what Jesus did for us and our faith in Him, we now have this privilege. Now, by faith alone, in Jesus alone, we have access to God the Father any time night or day. This has been bought for us by the sacrifice of Jesus, which he made on the cross for us. And because of what Jesus did for us, and because of our faith in Him, we now have the resources of the Trinity available to us by the Holy Spirit, who indwells us. Therefore, nothing is impossible, rather all things are possible through Christ Jesus our Lord, for those who believe.
